Guest Ratings & Reviews
The hotel was a short walk to the train station, offering fine rooms where I had a great night's sleep and enjoyed free parking. However, the cleanliness fell short with grubby and sticky surfaces, along with hairs found in the bed and bath.
The hotel is conveniently located near the town with plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants, making it great for exploring Derby. The rooms are in need of an update and could be cleaner, lacking the quality expected for a 4-star hotel. The service was helpful overall, but there were issues with payment processing and noise disturbances. The dining options offered a variety of choices, though some dishes fell short. The hotel does have some attractive facilities, but improvements could enhance the overall experience.
I found the hotel to be a mixed experience. The rooms were quiet but lacked air conditioning until I requested a fan, which made it quite uncomfortable. The service was excellent, with staff being both friendly and helpful. The location was good, close to the town center but with a small car park which was a bit challenging. The dining options were limited and overpriced. Although the hotel was inviting, some amenities were not up to expectations.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were not ready when I arrived, and the lack of air conditioning, especially after paying extra for comfort, was disappointing. However, the hotel generously decorated a room for my friend's birthday, resulting in a poorly executed setup that led to a complementary but freezing breakfast experience. Unfortunately, the night was uncomfortable due to the cold room and lack of proper heating, despite the chilly autumn weather. The noise from the nearby road was a constant disturbance throughout the night.
